Welcome letter

Dear Colleagues, dear Friends,

On behalf of the XXXI World Congress of Audiology (till 2010-International congress of Audiology) Organizing Committee and The Russian Society of Audiology, it is my great pleasure to extend a warm invitation to you to participate in XXXI World Congress of Audiology on April 29-May 3, 2012 in Moscow, Russia, under the auspices of the International Society of Audiology.

Over the past years, World Congress of Audiology has grown to be one of the major international conferences in audiology. The XXXI World Congress of Audiology continues the tradition of high-quality, broad international participation in all areas of audiology.

The Scientific Committee structures a program that will cover all contemporary key aspects of the audiology and related fields and will initiate a dialogue that will bring together experts of the laboratory research with clinical practitioners.

The scientific program will include three symposia, free papers and posters sessions.

First Symposium “Biological and Genetic Basis for Hearing Loss” was proposed by the organizers of the Congress, second – “The Implantable technologies in rehabilitation of hearing loss” by the Executive Committee of ISA and third — “The Evidence Based Practice in Audiology” by the General Assembly.

Bringing together participants from across region and around the world, this landmark congress will provide a superb opportunity for conversation, collaboration, and networking. In addition to the wide variety of presentations, the congress exhibition will provide insights into the latest products and developments from a number of companies and organizations.

The participants will experience and enjoy not only a “journey” through the latest developments of the scientific field, but also the actual journey in Moscow, the capital of Russia. Moscow, founded in 1147 by Prince Yuri Dolgoruki, is one of the world’s most beautiful cities with outstanding historical, cultural and scientific traditions.

The social program offers the opportunity for our colleagues to experience some of Moscow’s renowned hospitality and its latest attractions as well as a huge amount of historical monuments. We hope that many of you will come to the Congress and contribute to what we believe will be a highly successful and stimulating meeting. We are looking forward to meeting you, your family, and colleagues at XXXI World Congress of Audiology in Moscow. We hope that you will find the congress both enjoyable and valuable. We thank you in advance for participating and contributing to the success of the event.

Looking forward to welcoming you in Moscow!

Professor George Tavartkiladze
Congress President
